JOB TITLE:     

Asst Manager: Business Analytics & Financial Planning

REPORT TO:

AGM, Consumer Assets Business


 


 


 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB


 

The Business Planning and Financial Analysis role requires for evaluating the performance of Consumer Assets Business. Person will be responsible for preparing and presenting reports, as well as recommendations to senior management regarding financial and business results and works closely with Product Heads, Credit Dept, Sales, Marketing and other functions.


 

This position "Business Analytics & Financial Planning Manager – CAB Business" works on Annual budgets, Monthly, Quarterly forecasts, Financial analysis, Portfolio analysis, Daily state of Business report, Data Support and adhoc requests. Position focuses primarily on building and managing short and long-term outlooks while gaining an increased understanding of select business coverage areas, with a subsequent focus on enhancing the forecasting and planning process by working closely with and leveraging inputs from key partners. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the senior management in understanding business results, prepare for business reviews, and for the forecasting / planning process. Responsibility includes the preparation of reviews, decks, analysis of business results and initiatives' etc.


 


 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

List daily/weekly duties that account for at least 5% of the time as well as typical projects or assignments.

Business Analytics

Responsible for the preparation of following reports

Personal Finance

  1. Monthly report on Vintage analysis/MOB
  2. Yield analysis
  3. Mapping fees and interest correctly to relevant GL's
  4. Product / Segment Mix
  5. Performance analysis
  6. Month on month CPA analysis
  7. TTD reports
  8. Preparation of incentive / MIS for PF Cross Sell & Top-Up team

Credit Cards

  1. Monthly report on Vintage analysis/MOB
  2. Yield analysis
  3. Account profitability
  4. Product / Segment Mix
  5. Performance
  6. Month on month CPA
  7. TTD


 

Spend & Activation:

1. Analysis on overall spends, including:-

  1. Spends at card type level
  2. Spend based on MCC
  3. Spends segregated by domestic, international, retail.
  4. Campaign based analysis, example – dining.
  5. Forecasting spend trends.
  6. Analyzing activation trends.

2. ENR:-

  1. ENR forecasting and trends.
  2. Tracking components of ENR.
  3. EPP, BT, COP ENR analysis.

3. Revenue:-

  1. Forecasting trends.
  2. Risk based pricing.
  3. Tracking gross interest rate and net interest rate at product and portfolio level.
  4. Tracking individual fee lines.
  5. Mapping fees and interest correctly to relevant GL's.


 

4. Expenses:

  1. Tracking OOE Expenses.
  2. Accruals Forecasting – example -  cash back accruals.


 

5. Forecasting line increase opportunities.

6. Profiling customer based on transactor or revolver behaviour.

7. Analysis on card authorizations.

8. Analysis on over limit customers

9. Telesales Incentive/ MIS Preparation.

10. Behaviour score analysis.


 


 

Financial Planning


 

  1. Lead and participate in development and analysis of strategic forecast. Annual plan, quarterly re-forecasts and outlooks, and monthly flash.
  2. Monitor business performance in terms of revenue and expenses (line by line),
  3. Consolidate overall financial results, and provide senior management with timely feedback on underperformance, arising risks, and opportunities.
  4. Manage expenses with in approved budget/plan·
  5. Responsible for preparing monthly forecast of P&L and Asset size
  6. Responsible for the preparation of the monthly CAB business review.
  7. Responsible for ongoing analysis of financial results and key indicators
  8. Ensure that the tracking is inline with Samba policies
  9. Co ordinate in establishing BP&A functions in Samba UAE
  10. Coordinate with BP&A, FinCon, Credit, Sales and Ops etc


 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Include only those qualifications/experience absolutely necessary to perform the job.

  • Education & qualifications (include Membership of professional bodies):


 

MBA in Finance / Economics with necessary IT skilss

Or MS in Statistics with necessary IT skills

OR

Chartered Accountant / Cost accountant / Management Accountant with necessary IT skills


 


 


 


 

  • Work experience:


     

    At least 4-5 years of experience in consumer /business analytics, credit analytics as well as Business Finance


     


     


     


     


     


     

  • Other knowledge/skills (eg. management, interpersonal, technical):


     

  1. Analytical skills


 

  1. Person should have system understanding


 

  1. Person should be expert in MS office, SAS and other database management queries


 

  1. Knowledge of Microsoft Office


 

  1. Technical adeptness to use various other IT tools
